Today, the HIPAAtrek team is happy to release two updates that will impact your navigation and interaction with the HIPAAtrek platform.

First, we have updated the sidebar menu navigation so that your navigation options stay in place within the menu bar without requiring your mouse to hover over options. This update is intended to streamline your navigation in an efficient manner.

Second, we have updated the Policy Group Page (click on any Policy Group in the Policies Module to see this page). This update will support bulk updates with a “select all” option, increase editing functionality directly on each policy listed, and add a list view option in addition to the existing view.

Today the HIPAAtrek team is happy to release an improved Announcement center. This improvement is designed to give you better visibility into the latest features we are rolling out at HIPAAtrek. As with our old announcement page, you can expect to find product updates, news regarding regulatory changes, and announcements of updated resources for your use. Our goal is to keep you informed and engaged with the tools and resources that help you maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient data.

Our in-house compliance experts are working to update training materials to align with updated regulations, consolidate information, and more accurately fit the role-based training requirement from the OCR. In light of this transition, the following training videos will be archived in December 2025:

Records of completion will still be available in your HIPAAtrek account for the archived videos, but the videos will no longer be available to assign to staff. Please contact support@hipaatrek.com with any questions about this new training protocol or the videos being archived.

Our in-house HIPAA compliance experts have created two new policy templates, now available in your HIPAAtrek account in the policy module.

We have released a new Emerging Technologies policy template, as requested by our clients.

Additionally, we have released an updated version of the Information Blocking policy template to streamline updates under new regulations. If you have already adopted the addendum released on Jan 23, 2025, you do not need to implement this updated policy.

Policy review meetings will be available for interested clients to review both templates with our team on October 16th at 10am central time or October 21 at 1pm central time. An updated training video, Records Staff Training: Disclosing Minor's Medical Records, and corresponding quiz are now available in the training module. This content has been updated to reflect the current regulations and consolidate previous training videos.

If you had previously assigned the training videos relevant to disclosing minor records, you will still be able to see the record of completion, but the outdated videos will be archived in December 2025. Please use the new videos for future training.

Our in-house HIPAA compliance experts have added a new version of the Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP) to your HIPAAtrek account, in response to the nationwide injunction blocking the Reproductive Healthcare Privacy Rule. Please note that this updated NPP (version 3.1) complies with the changes to 42 CFR Pt 2 and therefore should be implemented instead of simply reverting to a previous version of the NPP.

Our HIPAA compliance experts are watching this changing situation closely and will update your HIPAAtrek account with the necessary materials when these regulations are finalized.

Today we have released two updates to the HIPAAtrek training module. First, the Policy Guide videos, formerly stored in the Knowledge Hub, have moved to the Training Module. This will allow you to assign and track completion of these videos as a part of your training program.

Additionally, the names of our training videos have been updated to help our clients understand who will benefit from each training video most. Keeping training role-specific is critical to creating compliance in action. For training videos that have already been assigned or completed, this update will not impact your tracking.

Our in-house HIPAA compliance experts have added a new addendum to our Information Blocking policy template. This addendum addresses updates from the Health Data, Technology, and Interoperability: Protecting Care Access (HTI-3) final rule, which became effective on December 17, 2024. This update aims to simplify policy management and reduce administrative efforts while ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

You can find this addendum in the policy folder within the Information Blocking policy template. Please follow the provided instructions within the document before using the addendum.
