The recording of the July HIPAA Huddle is now available in the knowledge hub. This month, our in-house compliance experts covered the updated Unified Agenda that was recently released, including how you should be thinking about your compliance strategy and the action steps to begin taking now.

Our in-house compliance experts are working to update training materials to align with updated regulations, consolidate information, and more accurately fit the role-based training requirement from the OCR. The following training videos will be archived on June 30, 2026:

• All Staff Training: Compliant Social Media Usage has been updated. The updated training is available in the training module, and the previous version is marked for archival.
• All Staff Training: Digital Communication has been replaced with All Staff Training: Using Digital Communication Safely, available in the training module.
• All Staff Training: Password Management will be replaced with All Staff Training: Managing Your Passwords, which will be released June 30.
• All Staff Training: Understanding Phishing will be replaced with All Staff Training: Understanding Cyber Attacks, which will be released June 30.
  
• All Staff Training: Introduction to Security will be archived.
• Compliance Officer Training: Staying Compliant on Social Media will be archived.
• Compliance Officer Training: Physical Safeguards will be archived.

The trainings being archived should no longer be assigned to staff and any staff currently assigned to complete these trainings must do so by June 29, 2026.

Four new training videos will be released on June 30, 2026:

• All Staff Training: Physical Security
• All Staff Training: Managing Your Passwords
• All Staff Training: Understanding Cyber Attacks
• All Staff Training: Using and Securing Workstations

We have released updates to the HIPAAtrek training module, changing the process of mapping quizzes to videos. It is now only necessary to connect the quiz to the video or the video to the quiz, instead of mapping in both directions. This update will streamline workflows for administrators in HIPAAtrek when assigning videos and quizzes. 

Additionally, changes have been made to the platform to prevent duplicate assignments of training videos or quizzes that have been assigned but not completed.

These updates will not impact your tracking for training that has been assigned or completed.

Today, the HIPAAtrek team is happy to release two updates that will impact your navigation and interaction with the HIPAAtrek platform.

First, we have updated the sidebar menu navigation so that your navigation options stay in place within the menu bar without requiring your mouse to hover over options. This update is intended to streamline your navigation in an efficient manner.

Second, we have updated the Policy Group Page (click on any Policy Group in the Policies Module to see this page). This update will support bulk updates with a “select all” option, increase editing functionality directly on each policy listed, and add a list view option in addition to the existing view.
